IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN EASY CREDIT,
CONSIDER THIS ABOUT THE CLASS.

INTEREST + MOTIVATION = ARTISTIC SUCCESS

NO INTEREST + LOOKING FOR EASY =  STILL HAVING TO DO THE WORK

ROP PROFESSIONAL FILM is like no other film class. It's about the knowledge of the film industry. It's a workshop where like-minded people meet and share appreciation of the craft of filmmaking.

It's main factor is motivation. You will  need to be committed and motivated to do this type of work, unless you have a real interest in the subject matter. 10 years of the class's history has documented it's proof.

The class involves working with teams OUTSIDE of the class time to create films. If you are interested in the filming experience, it's very easy. If you don't really have an interest at all i the subject matter, then it's a chore and you'll have to put many extra weekend hours doing something you don't like. Eventually you may find that your lack of interested will inspire you to not participate in filming, or writing scripts, or watching films that are not in color.

Although most students have a basic interest and curiosity (and many do very well) we've had students told they need another class to graduate. Choosing this class may seem like an easy way to satisfy that goal, but there have been many examples of students not interested, not motivated, not doing the work and then failing out. As long as you understand that this will be work in this subject matter and others will count on your participation, you'll do fine. If you like film, acting, photography, marketing, the arts, or supporting arts, you'll do fine.

This course requires an interest in film production or industry, and a GPA of 2.0 or Higher.

There are other classes that will get you far better results if you just need credits. Others that will require less interest in filmmaking.

Also, the films we screen are films related to the subject matter of filmmaking. Some are black and white, and may not have sound. There has never been a Fast and Furious film shown in this course.
