You have found your people. We care about good film and television.
The main factor in succeeding in film is interest coupled with motivation. Even with no prior film classes or training, this may be the artistic fit for you. It's a class that people show the interest in film and television. It's caring about what is good (Orphan Black, Dr. Who, Bond, Hitchcock, anything made by HBO) and what is considered questionable (Michael Bay, any film that an increasing number at the end #F&F8).
The class is not like other classes. It's a series of film lessons, ideas and stories from not just the films and shows the instructor has covered, but from the thousands of others who've also told stories from the sets. It's a series of conversations and practices as told from people who work IN film. It's aim is to go beyond normal film classes, and bring the years worth of knowledge from practical experience and what you'll need to know.
ROP PROFESSIONAL FILM is like no other film class. It's about the deep knowledge of the film history and industry. It's a workshop where like-minded people meet and share appreciation of the craft of filmmaking.
SHORT FILM CREATION for Film Festivals -
You'll create a series of films designed to be entered into film festivals. The more films you make, the more practice you get, the better chance you have to craft one that win in a film festival and gain you notoriety.
FILM INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE providing an advantage to working in film -
But that's not all. Classes discuss the on-set film experience, prepping you for advancement into the industry. The Instructor isn't someone who worked on studio film and series, he's working on studio films and series. This class is more work than an easy credit class, but if you have any desire to enter into the film industry, you will find it an indispensable resource.
MASTERS Filmmaking Community -
It's not just a class, it's a community. 10 years of students who all remain in touch and are working in the industry will welcome you into our MASTERS group. A resource of knowledge, assistance, and employment. The only access is to complete the ROP course for entry.
FILM POPONOMICS -
Review and discuss the economics of the film industry. The box office, the Oscar campaigns, the trends and future of the industry. Understand what the producers know.
FILMS SCREENINGS -
We screen films that inspire, educate, and reinforce discussed techniques and genres. All films that will have an impact later.
